After beating England at Nottingham in a convincing win on June 3 in the ICC World Cup, the Pakistan team got a pat on its back from the man who matters the most to them and had himself been the cricketing icon in Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated Sarfaraz Ahmad and his team reminding them that they are a great team. They only need to have self confidence. Interestingly, it was the England team in the final of 1992 World Cup that was beaten by Pakistan under a charged up Imran Khan at Melbourne ground.
So, Khan’s words mean a lot to the Pak team, which lost the first match to West Indies in the ongoing WC. The Pakistan PM tweeted: ” Congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team for a great win and for coming back into form after a poor start in the warm up matches and the first WC match. You have the talent, all you need is the self belief that you can go all the way”.
