India to harvest 303 mn tons foodgrains,rice tops record output

India would harvest a record foodgrain production of 303.34 million tonnes during the crop year 2020-21, against 297.50 million tonnes in the previous year, as per second advance estimates of the government.

The credit for this record foodgrains output, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare goes to ” the tireless hard work of farmers, research by agricultural scientists, and farmer-friendly policies of the Central Government.”
It also said that ”all-round agricultural reforms” would benefit the country ”in the long run”.
